Holland vs. Netherlands and why we speak Dutch

Being a native person from the Netherlands who has traveled quite a bit the following is a very standard conversation while meeting people from other countries:

“So where are you from?”
“I am from Holland.”
“You mean the Netherlands?”
“Uh yes. The Netherlands. And Holland. It’s kind of the same. But we speak Dutch. Oh yeah, and officially it is called the Kingdom of the Netherlands which includes some Caribbean islands too!”

Confused?! We Dutchies, Netherlanders and Hollanders are too!

So it is about time to settle this once and for all with an entertaining video at lightning speed.

Holland and the Netherlands will never be the same again.
