Ireland, that’s part of Britain right?

The history of Ireland and England’s relationship is long and confusing. If it was a Hollywood film there would be a lot of action scenes and people with strange accents arguing with each other. I’ll likely be covering it more over the coming months but, in brief, various different ethnic groups have all had their wicked way with both islands. The fallout of all this is that the political geography of the islands of Ireland and Great Britain is… interesting.

There are a lot of people around the world who are under the impression that Ireland is in some way a part of Britain, Great Britain or England. I’m here to set the record straight. My friend, Mark Cantan, has put together this handy little video to help explain the situation which you should check out.
