Mi Casa Music

One of South Africa’s most renowned bands, Mi Casa, which is Spanish for ‘My House’ consists of three talented individuals, including (From Left to Right)

Dr Duda – also known as SA’s doctor of house music – is the bands forefront producer and pianist

J’Something – Birth name – Joao da Fonseca, is the Groups lead vocalist and guitarist, he was born in Portugal and grew up in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.

Mo-T – Micasa’s charismatic trumpeter and comes from a family with a music background, his father was part of the SA band, Mango groove.

These Streets

The band has been receiving a lot of attention since the release of their hit single These Streets from their album Micasa Music which went ‘gold’ almost immediately

Fans fell in love which their unique urban jazz meets house sound and thus remained at the top of the South Africa music video and radio charts at number one.


Heavenly Sent

Heavenly Sent, the second single from the album MiCasa Music earned them five nominations at the South African Music Awards (SAMA) in the following categories:

Best Dance Album

Group of The Year

Album of The Year

Record of The Year



The song Jika, the first single from their second studio album Su Casa was nominated for an MTV African Music Award in 2014 in the Song of The Year category

  1. I love these guys music. I have watched them perform life here in Luanda. People went crazy from their song “La Vida”, specially because they sing it in Portuguese.

    Great band indeed!
