Ski in The Morning, Swim in The Afternoon

In Lebanon, The swim season is the swim season, but the ski season is the ski and swim season!

Many keen skiers looking for a fresh and alternative skiing destination should check out the holidays being arranged in Lebanon. It certainly won’t be a country at the forefront of people’s minds when it comes to thinking of skiing vacations, but Lebanon boasts ample opportunity for some first class skiing whilst offering a friendly and unique atmosphere. There in Lebanon a ski resort can be half an hour away from a public beach, where you can ski in the morning, and take a swim in the Mediterranean sea the same day in the afternoon!

Lebanon has six ski resorts with groomed slopes, catering to skiers and snowboarders of all levels. Beyond the skiable domains await you kilometers of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails waiting to be discovered; Lebanon has something for everyone. Each of the ski resorts has a different flavor; however, it is “Mzar Kfardibyen” that offers world-class infrastructure and facilities for the tourists. The Cedars resort is ideal for nature getaway seekers, and Laqlouq is suitable for families with levels up to intermediate.

The skiing season in Lebanon is similar in length to that of the Alps stretching over a period of 4 months.

Lebanon is very well known for it’s beautiful weather. If you’re lucky enough after a long exhausting ski day in “Faraya”, you can rush in no longer than 40-50 mins to Beirut a couple of kilometers away or it’s calm vicinity for a cool relaxing swim (the weather can score 30 degrees in Beirut and 0 in Faraya the same day).

In a very moderate climate on the coast during the winter, the swimming season lasts from March (rarely in late February) to October while the snow lasts until April.
