You know you’re in Indonesia when you see one of these
Dry clothes in the fence
There are many ways to dry clothes. We can use dryer in the washing machine for once. Some of houses in Indonesia usually has a wide yard where they can use it to put clothesline to dry them. One can also use clothes hanger inside or outside the house. But Indonesian sometime also like to dry clothes in fence. Although not very home use this method, it’s not uncommon to see some houses’s fence decorated by clothes.
Add water to the washing soap
We are accustomed to add water to the rinsing soap, be it for washing dishes or bathing soap (although it’s already a liquid). I used to do this to the rinsing soap for washing dishes, where I put them in two bottles. The original one where the liquid soap is still thick or condensed, and then the other bottle is used to mixed some of those liquid with water. I use the mixed washing soap in the second bottle to wash dishes. The idea is to save the use of the thick liquid. Even after I mix it with water, it’s still foamy and powerful to wash out some stain. But it’s rarely used for bathing soap.
Drying mattresses in the car Hood and Roof
Actually this is a really good idea to maximize the function of your car.
Use sarong as a base for your ironing board
I’m quite sure that not only sarong is used as a base for ironing board. Any other plain cloth also used as a base for ironing board. I saw this method since I was young, but I don’t really know why we need a base, but I guess the layering cloth is used to protect the board from the burnt caused by the ironing.
Put a plastic bags inside a plastic bag
It’s common in Indonesia to use plastic bag to wrap or carry our grocery. But we also know to re-use them. After shopping, we use to keep the plastic bag inside a bigger plastic bag. One may just stuff them without folding it, but some folding it tidily and put them in a bigger plastic bag.
